Keith Robert  Horten
Mr. Keith Horten, age 79, of Riesel, Texas, passed away peacefully at Providence Hospice Place at St. Catherine’s, Waco, TX, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, surrounded by his family.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. June 24, 2017, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive Waco, TX.
Keith was born on August 26, 1938 to Carl William Horten & Ruth Mary Horten in Parma, Ohio. He joined the United States Navy on Feb. 4, 1957 and was honorably discharged December 6, 1962.He married Marilyn Opryshek on September 8, 1962. They were married for 55 years.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Horten; brothers Bruce Francis Horten and Carl William Horten Jr.; son Bobby Horten of Waco, Texas; and son James Horten of Riesel.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Horten; sons, Ronald Horten and wife Carol Horten of Riesel, Texas, and Michael Horten of North Carolina; daughters, Karen Mulsow and husband Dennis Mulsow of Marlin, TX and Rosie Maple and husband Steve of Temple, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Other survivors who will miss his smile include his sisters, Dawn Liesman and Faith Sparks of Seguin, TX, and Gail Seibert of New Braunfels, TX, Isla and her husband, Tom Bauer, of Gonzales, TX; brothers Brian Horten of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Craig Horten and his wife, Hanne, of Salt Lake City, UT, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A reception will follow the service at Cornerstone Fellowship, 207 E Frederick St, Riesel, TX 76682
