Gary Bruce  Brown
Gary Bruce Brown, 76, of Waco, TX, passed away at home on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Robinson, TX. Funeral services and burial will be held graveside at 10am Friday, December 29th at China Springs Cemetery, 15654 Old China Spring Rd, China Spring, TX, with Pastor David Cozart officiating.

Gary was born in Waco, TX to Marion Leonard Brown and Ruby Ray Hopkins Brown on November 8, 1941. He married Susan Gay Underwood Gardner on June 24, 1988 in Phoenix, AZ. He lived in the Phoenix area for over 50 years and worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator with the Teamsters Union for 34 years. He returned to his home town of Waco in 2009. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Marines for 4 years. In high school, he ran track and played football. As a young man, he enjoyed racing sprint cars, drinking beer, laughing, and winning fist fights. He liked hunting, fishing, football, NASCAR races, country music, and history, especially the times of the Wild West. Above all, Gary was a loving father, a loyal husband, and a hard-working, determined man.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father, and 3 brothers, Glen, Ray, and Johnny.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susan, 4 daughters, Monica Jean Downes and husband Jeff, Darla Kaye Fribbs and husband Brad, Trisha Lynn Miller, and Kristi Lee DeMarco and husband Tommy, a step-daughter, Beth Climie, a step-son, Bryon Gardner, 2 sisters, Gale Childs and husband Sonny, and Ginger Simons, several grandchildren, Alissa, Leslie, Kayla, Chance, Cortney, TJ, Emma, Grace, Taylor, and Wyatt, and several great-grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn, and Easton.
Gary’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses, care givers, and volunteers of Kindred Hospice.
